Happy New Year Everyone!!!

I can't believe how fast this year has gone! It's so crazy! I just thought I would give anyone who is interested a little re-cap of what has happened in our lives in the past year. Our lives aren't that exciting, so it might be boring for you :) Well Shayne and I are still working at our same jobs. Shayne does insided sales/warehouse managing for an HVAC supply company called Air Cold Supply. He has been there for a few years, and likes it most days :) It's been a good job for him and for both of us. I'm glad he works so hard to support us. He is the best husband in the world and I love him so much! I am still working at Century 21 Golden Spike Realty's North Ogden office. I am the receptionist. It's a pretty easy, laid back job, and I like it too, most days :) We moved out of my grandpa's house and bought our own house in July. We absolutely love it and we are having so much fun making it the way we want it. We have plans to paint the outside of it this year. We really would like it to be another color than bright sky blue, or "JAZZ" blue for Kevin. We love the Jazz but not that much! :) So hopefully we will be able to do that. We would ultimately like to do siding, but it's much more expensive than paint. Still, though, if anyone knows someone who does a good job with siding, let us know. If it's a good enough deal, we would consider it. My grandfather moved in with my mom shortly after we moved out. He is doing ok, but it's good that he has someone with him all the time to take care of him. As most of you know, Shayne's mom was diagnosed with breast cancer this year. Just a quick update on that, she is done with chemo and doing well. She is finishing up her radiation, and her hair is growing back so well. I'm so excited because I am her hair dresser and I can't wait to be able to start doing it again! :) We are so blessed to have her in good health, and we keep praying the cancer will stay away! We love you Francine! Also, as most of you know, Shayne and I have been trying for a baby for quite a while now. No luck yet, but we are still trying. So I will make sure I let you know if we have any luck in that department. Well, we had a great Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and now almost New Years with our families and I hope you all did too. I love this time of year, but I'm ready for things to get back to normal and calm down, and to stop spending money!! I'm excited to see what the new year will bring (hopefully a baby!) and we wish you all a Happy New Year!

Quirks

Brandie tagged me, so I better do it! :)

* Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours.
* Tag 6 fellow bloggers by linking them.

1. I can't read blue very well, especially on lit up signs at night. It just all blurrs together.

2. This is wierd, but I absolutely CAN NOT stand to rub my finger, or have anyone else do it, along my eyebrows in the opposite direction of the hair growth. I have no idea why, but my husband thinks it's hilarious so he tries do it to me every chance he gets. I FREAK out!

3. After I eat, I have to have the last taste in my mouth be something sweet.

4. I cry really easily.

5. I pass out if I give blood or plasma. Which is wierd, it never used to bother me, but I had a very bad experience once and now I want to throw up even thinking about doing it.

6. I feel like very few people know the real real me. Not that I'm fake, but it takes a while for me to feel like I'm being totally myself. I can probably count on 2 hands how many people I feel like REALLY know me.

*I tag who ever wants to do it! :)

A Little Upset!

Ok, so I got my book in the mail about the diet for PCOS. I was so excited to get it after reading about it online. So, I started reading it this weekend and I was getting really excited about it. It sounded like something new and great and I was learning alot. The more I read though, the more the book started contradicting itself. Finally I was so confused, I got to the diet part. Like what I could eat and couldn't eat. Let me tell you, I am so mad! The whole time the book made it sound like you could still eat a wide range of foods and that it was meant to be on a budget. That it would just teach me a better way of eating. But NOOOOOO! It's what they call a "hunter-gatherer" diet. Which basically means, if I couldn't find it in the woods basically, or hunt it and kill it, I can't eat it! What the? Oh, and everything has to be 'organic'. I'm sorry, but I feel like organic stuff is a bunch of crap to rip people off. I mean, I know they don't use pestisides and all that, and if I could afford it, I might have a different opinion. But I'm not going to pay $3 more for that tiny head of 'non-pesticide' lettuce, when I can get this nice big one for half the price! I mean, seriously. People have been eating non-organic food for years and personally, I would rather not have bugs on my food, so I would rather it be sprayed. I wash it anyway, ya know? So that's not even it. I can't eat peanut butter, any type of carb that's not in something like an apple that I can't do anything about, no dairy! They say that milk is designed for baby cows and not humans and it has no health benefits! Are you kidding me? How about calcium for your bones, hair, nails, etc? Basically, the knowledge part is great, but I can find all that info online. I don't need to pay $40 for someone to tell me I need to eat like an organic flower child! I can cut back on my carbs, eat more fruits and veggies and exercise more all by myself, and not pay a fortune for it! Anyway, I guess I'm more dissappointed than anything. I was really hoping this would be the answer I was looking for. I was willing to work hard for it, but I'm not going to make myself unhappy by never eating ANYTHING! I was on a diet like that once. It worked, but I only lasted about 3 days. I cried every day because all I could eat was lettuce, tuna and chicken, oh and egg whites with no salt. Yum. I know that probably makes me sound like a baby, but I just can't handle only eating stuff like that. Let alone, afford all this organic food. I do much better when I just excersise, drink lots of water and just cut out most of the junk food. I'm much happier because I don't feel like a big fat failure if I eat a piece of cake once in a while, ya know? Oh well, hopefully I can get a refund. Luckily my sweet husband loves me just the way I am. He is so supportive. So we will both just have to be patient and stick to it while I get healthy the old fashioned way. I guess there is no easy answer. I'm still motivated though, and I'm still going to get healthier, so wish me luck!

My PCOS Journey...

*WARNING- THIS MAY BE A LITTLE GRAPHIC OR GROSS FOR SOME PEOPLE* Just in case anyone is interested, I thought I would share a little bit about my "condition" and our trying to get pregnant. This will probably be a long and boring post, but just in case anyone else that reads this is trying to conceive or maybe even has or knows someone with PCOS, this might be interesting to you. So for those of you who don't know, I have a condition called PCOS, which stand for Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome. It's something you are born with. It means that I frequently get cysts on my ovaries, which is actually very common for many women, but you can have cysts without having PCOS. When you have PCOS, you typically have ovaries that are 3 to 5 times larger than normal ovaries. And in most cases, you have very irregular or no periods at all. In my case, I do not have periods AT ALL without the aid of medication. This also means that I do not ovulate without medication either. Which means, I can't get pregnant without it. Growing up, I started getting my period around age 12. I think they were pretty regular cycle wise, but very heavy, and I would occasionally have cramps that would almost make me faint. I would lay on the floor and cry until I fell asleep. I LITERALLY thought I was going to die. I wanted to have a hysterectomy at age 13 and just adopt children, because that's how bad the pain was. Well, thankfully I didn't :) But I did go to the doctor to see what was wrong. They didn't do an internal exam, because they thougt I was too young. Nor do I remember them doing any blood work. But they did do an ultra sound of my uterus and ovaries. They told me I had cysts and that they would go and come and occasionally they would rupture and I would feel them. Well that was it. From then up until I was about 17 or 18, I just dealt with the pain. The bad cramps gradually went away and I began having lighter and lighter cycles. And occasionally I would feel a cyst break and it would floor me but the pain would go away after a few minutes and I would just be tired. So I'm not even going to talk about my first pap because I went alone and it was just about the most horrible thing I have ever experienced. It hurt and the doctor was insensitive and I thought I was going to die. But the reason I went there was because I hadn't had a period in 9 months. Once again, no bloodwork or anything. He just put me on birth control and called it good. Well, the birth control helped make me regular and everything was good for a while. So then the time comes when I get married. Mind you I did have a few other pap tests before then and they were a much better experience, even though I still hate them, as I'm sure every woman does. Well I stayed on birth control for about the first 2 years of our marriage because we weren't ready for kids. Then, I just didn't refill it one day and we decided to just see what happens. So we weren't like trying, but not preventing. This went on for about 6 months or so and then I went in for a regular annual. Well it was fine, but my doctor(finally) wanted to know why I was so irregular. So she did blood tests. Turns out, I have PCOS. Now, many women who have it are either type 1 or type 2 diabetic or at least insulin resistant. Insulin resistant basically means that the body doesn't use insulin or glucose the way it's supposed to for energy, and therefore usually is stored as fat. Well at the time, I had recently lost about 17 pounds from a previous diet and my doctor said I was neither diabetic, or insulin resistant. I have been thin my entire life until about 20 years old, when I started gaining weight rapidly. I'm not like morbidly obese or anything, but I am about 35 pounds heavier than I was then and I would like to be healthier. I have also always had a problem with my blood sugar. Now, I am no doctor and I don't know if this is right, but this is the easiest way for me to describe it. If I get really hungry, especially at lunch time, and I don't eat right away, I feel as if my blood sugar plummits and I am about to faint. I get hot and shaky and dizzy. It's very wierd. My entire life, I have never known what causes it, so I have just made sure I eat asap when I start to feel it coming on. Oddly enough, the same thing would happen to me when I would feel a cyst on my ovary burst. I never realized they could be connected. Well my blood test was over a year ago now, and I have unfortunately gained back all the weight I had lost before my doctor's appt. So, now I'm wondering if I may be insulin resistant. I have done alot of research, and as far as I can tell, your weight and the things you eat have the BIGGEST impact on your PCOS sypmtoms. I feel like I have been trying all kinds of diets, and granted I could try harder and exercise more, but it just seems like nothing is working. I have always known that I need to cut back on my bad carbs, but until recently, I didn't realize how crucial this actually is. I recently found a book online and it is call "The Natural Diet Solution for PCOS and Infertility" Could there be anyting out there that applies to me more? NO! So I ordered it. I'm waiting for it to come in the mail. But I'm very excited because it has so much information about PCOS and what specific things to eat and not eat to completely counter act your symptoms and infertility with PCOS. I'm not like a total health nut by any means, but I'm not all about pumping my body full of meds to combat every little thing either. This book takes a more hollistic, comprehensive approach to battling PCOS. I know it will be difficult. It's a complete lifestyle, and life long change. Which means it takes life long effort. But it will be worth it to be healthier, in a healthy weight range, and have a child of our own. PCOS also highly increases the risk of heart attack, heart disease, and stroke in women, especially as they get older. I just know that if I don't do something now, I will eventually reach a point where it's too late. I can't stand the thougt of dying at an early age and leaving my husband and children early, just because of some disorder I could have reversed by a simple and healthy lifestyle change when I was young. I have been able to read small parts of the book on the website and peoples testimonials. I have learned more in the last 2 days than I have ever known about PCOS. I believe that knowledge is crucial if I want to make a difference with it. Now, just so you know, this is not some weight loss scheme that I am trying. This is a book written by a doctor, targeted at reversing severe and potentially dangerous symptoms of this condition called PCOS. There are no crazy diets, or medications. I just make sure that I'm choosing healthy foods and replacing unhealthy foods with them. I make sure I'm eating good carbs versus bad, and lots of fruits and vegetables. I will probably be taking a couple natural supplements such as fish oil, and L-Carnitine(amino acid) to aid in being healthy. I have done alot of research on these suppliments and have not found them be dangerous or unnatural in any way. I'm very excited about this. It's like the answer I have been looking for. I feel as if I have been stuck behind a wall, because of lack of knowledge of how to change my situation. I used to think I had no control over my condition. Turns out, I can do more to reverse it just by making healthy lifestyle changes than I can by taking medication for it. Now, I have been on the fertility drug clomid and provera, to help stimulate ovulation, so I will probably have to remain on them as long as my doctor instructs me to. But I am excited, mostly just to get healthier. Many of the women who have followed this diet have had their regular periods return (which means they are ovulating on their own), and have had many other side effects of PCOS subside, such as hirsutism(unwanted hair growth), acne, imbalanced blood sugar levels, high blood pressure, excess weigt, etc. I'm excited about this new journey in my life and I hope it will lead to a healthier me and eventually a baby :) I appreciate all the support of my friends and family. Please help me do this. Don't be offended if I don't take that piece of cake at the party or something. This is something that is long over due for me and that I can't postpone any longer. I NEED to be healthier. So, thanks for listening. Sorry if I sounded like a weight loss informercial or grossed anyone out.

Hey Everyone!

Not a whole lot to update about but just wanted to say hello. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We did! It's nice because Shayne's family always eats early and mine eats late so we always get to see both families. I love it! We had lots of yummy food and fun with our families. Then we braved the crowd on Black Friday (like every year!) and got some great deals. We hit Wal-Mart first at 5am. It was pretty crazy but they let you in the store before hand and you just have to wait by the shrink wrapped pallots until 5am to get what you want. I like it better because you don't have to freeze your butt of standing outside in line and then also there is not a huge crowd pushing and shoving to get in the door so it's safer. Then we went to a few more places and the mall and then went to Moore's for breakfast just as the sun was coming up. It was SUCH good food and we were in and out in no time which surprised me. Then we went home and I put up the tree and decorations while my hubby napped and then we went back out for some more stuff! :) It was tons of fun! I love this time of year and I love Christmas shopping. I hope we can all have a great Christmas season and remember the true meaning of Christmas!

How long have you been married? JUST OVER 3 YEARS

How long did you date? WE KNEW EACHOTHER FOR A YEAR BUT DATED FOR ABOUT 9 MONTHS BEFORE WE GOT MARRIED.

How old is he? 25 (I TEASE HIM THAT HE'S HALF WAY TO 50!)

Who eats more sweets? PROBABLY ME

Who said "I love you" first? I CAN'T REMEMBER, I THINK IT WAS KIND OF MUTUAL.

Who is taller? SHAYNE IS BUT NOT BY TOO MUCH, I CAN'T WEAR TALL SHOES. I'M JUST TOO TALL, I WISH I WERE A FEW INCHES SHORTER BUT THAT WOULD JUST MAKE ME LOOK FATTER :)

Who can sing best?
SHAYNE DOESN'T REALLY SING, SO I GUESS ME, BUT I'M NO ROCKSTAR

Who is smarter?
HE IS, DEFINATELY!

Who does the laundry? WE BOTH DO, BUT I'M ASHAMED TO ADMIT THAT HE DOES MORE THAN ME

Who pays the bills? I DO, JUST BECAUSE IT'S EASIER. I DO PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING ONLINCE SINCE I'M SITTING IN FRONT OF A COMPUTER ALL DAY AND HE IS SO BUSY.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? WHEN YOUR LAYING IN IT OR LOOKING AT IT? WHEN WE'RE LAYING DOWN IT'S ME.

Who drives? USUALLY HIM, BUT I DON'T MIND

Who kissed who first? HE KISSED ME, IT WAS SO CUTE! HE WAS SO NERVOUS. SO WAS I.

Who asked who out first? I ASKED HIM OUT BUT ONLY BECAUSE MY FRIEND LITERALLY FORCED ME TOO ASK HIM TO COME TO A BIRTHDAY PARTY I WAS THROWING. I NEVER WOULD'VE BEEN THE FIRST TO ASK IF I WEREN'T FORCED, BUT I'M GLAD I DID :)

Who wears the pants? THE PANTS ARE BIG ENOUGH FOR BOTH OF US :)

FANTASTIC NEWS!!!!

WE JUST FOUND OUT THAT MY MOTHER IN LAW IS NOW IN REMISSION OF HER BREAST CANCER! YAY! NO MORE CHEMO THERAPY! THIS IS THE BEST NEWS WE'VE HAD IN A LONG TIME! SO I THOUGHT I'D SHARE. WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH FRANCINE! CONGRATULATIONS!

Our Baby?

Yes I changed the pic from earlier. I did it again and I like this one better, though I don't think I will have a choice :) Nor do I think our babies will have this dark of hair.
I found a link to this website and you can upload pics of yourselves and it will make your baby for you. This is what ours looked like! Funny hu? I did this twice and they both had fat faces so I guess we are just bound to have chubby kids :) The first one had blond hair. If you want to try it click this link http://www.vw.com/vwhype/babymaker/en/us/ Just FYI it says no pics with facial hair, but I used one for Shayne and it worked fine.

Success!

Well the baby shower for my sister in law Crystal went well on Saturday! I was so stressed and worried but everything turned out pretty good I think. I knew it would, but I worry about everything. I took some pics but I don't have my camera with me so I will post them later. My house is small so it was crowded but it was fun and I think/hope everyone had a good time. We had yummy food and played games and just hung out with eachother. It was nice.

Hey everyone...

I had an interesting experience this morning. Yet another demonstration of my all too often absent mindedness. I got all ready for work this morning and as usual I was in a rush, so I'm ready to walk out the door and where are my car keys? No where to be found! I tore my house apart frantically looking. I went outside to see if they had somehow possibly been locked inside the car that we hadn't driven all weekend. Nowhere. So, I call my husband and ask him to check the truck since that's what we had driven over the weekend and I remembered having them on Saturday. Well, he was busy at work so he had to wait a while to call me back and let me know. In the meantime, I call my boss to let her know. Our company doors unlock automatically at 9am (don't ask me why, I have no idea why this would seem like a good invention). So luckily there was an already one of our agents there and she said she would cover the phones for me until I could work something out. So, Shayne calls me back and says they are not there. I realized that I had probably left them in my coat pocket which I had left at my mom's house after my brother's baptism on Saturday. So, her house is in Roy and my mom is at work. So my only other option is to have Shayne leave work and come get me. Well he was so nice about it and didn't get mad or anything. Thanks babe :) It ended up being fun though because while he was on his way home, I made some breakfast burritos ready to go with us when he got there (he rarely eats breakfast no matter how much I try to get him to, so I figured I would suprise him for being so nice and coming to get me). It was nice because I got to ride to work with him and he will be here to pick me up and take me home in about a half hour. We don't ever get to do stuff like that so it was fun. And I was only about an hour late for work. Thankfully I have the nicest boss in the world and she didn't even get mad or anything. So all in all, it turned out ok. And my mom brought my keys to me when she got off work today, so I'm all set for tomorrow if I can manage not to lose them between now and then :) Anyway, sorry for the long post. I'm bored at work. So we are having my sister-in-laws baby shower at my house this Saturday and I'm a little stressed. I was fairly satisfied with the way I had decorated our house until I saw some other people's houses that I know and now my walls seem naked. Shayne has been on me about getting up pictures of us, he says we never put up pictures of us. He's right, somehow, something else always seems to take up the space for them. And now my walls seem naked, and I feel creatively bland, for lack of a better word. I need creative inspiration and lots of money to do what I would like to do to our home. Shayne and I have been itching to paint an accent wall, but we can't agree on which wall or decide on a color. Plus I feel overwhelmed at the simple task of trying to find places for things on our walls. I feel like it will look wierd if I just go at it. I've been seeing some cute ideas from friends and I think I will try a couple. But man, I just don't know how I can get it done in a week. I'm suddenly feeling self concious about my house now that I know lots of people will be there on Saturday. Our main priority is finishing our front door. It's in but it needs finishing and painting. I should just relax. I stress too much about things, but I have this wierd obsession with impressing people. That sounds prideful. It's not so much impressing them as desperately seeking their approval. I'm sure everyone already accepts the way my house looks but I have a hard time with it when I know people are coming. My mother and father in law stopped over the other night. My house was a COMPLETE DISASTER. They were so nice and didn't even act like they cared, bless their hearts, but I was a nervous wreck! I was freaking out about how it looked and I was so embarrassed. I have been trying harder to keep it clean all the time so when people come over I won't be quite as embarrassed. But I'm one of those people that like one dirty thing leads to another. For example, I am horrible at putting away the clean laundry. So that leads to other things being undone. Like dishes. I think "okay what do I need to do when I get home tonight? Well, I need to do the laundry and if I have time, I'll do dishes" Which never works out, I usually find myself busy with something else, or we end up having to go somewhere so nothing gets done. Or I'll do the dishes first because I can't stand dirty dishes (but I HATE washing them, no we do not have a dishwasher...)and by the time I'm done with that, I'm so tired I just want to sit, so the other stuff doesn't get done. I shouldn't complain. I can only imagine my life once I add kids to the picture :) I really am glad and grateful for all that I have. When I get overwhelmed with things like housework, I just have to stop and think that I would have given anything to have our own house and be doing this while we lived at my Grandpa's for the past 2 1/2 years. So I just need to do one thing at a time. Thanks for listening to my rambling. Sometimes getting it out helps. Anyway, I hope the shower turns out okay. I'm really excited for it.

Funny Story...

Ok, so I wanted to tell you all about my little mis-hap last night. For those of you who do not know me that well, let me just say I must be the most retarded person on the planet. With that in mind, here goes... So our house is an older house and we have these big long and skinny air intake vents in the floor. They are like maybe 2 1/2 or 3 feet long by about 6 inches wide. Well they are this ugly brown color so we have decided to paint them white. My husband painted the one in the living room and it looked great so we decided to do the other one. Well I'm just picking up the living room last night and Shayne decides to start on painting the other vent. So he takes it out, comes in the living room and says "be careful, I just took that out, don't fall in the hole"... what do you think happened next? You're right! Not one minute later I was carrying a huge pile of blankets into our bedroom and I couldn't see in front of me. Well before I knew it, I was flat on my face on the bathroom floor!(the vent is right next to the bathroom). Shayne was like "Oh no! Did you just fall in the hole?!" And I didn't know what the heck had happened, so after I realized, I started crying because it scared me (and I cry easily). I wasn't hurt, just scared. So Shayne is hugging me and he's all "I was just kidding when I said don't fall in the hole, I didn't think you would really do it." So we both started laughing really hard. So I'm laughing and crying and then Shayne suddenly realizes that I probably caused alot of damage seeing as how my foot broke through the duct and there was now a hole right into the crawl space. So he is starting to get upset looking at it and thinking about how hard it was goin to be to fix it since our crawl space is so small and dark and has so much stuff in the way. But I couldn't stop laughing or crying! I was still crying because I felt bad that I had ruined the duct but everytime I thought about what Shayne had said I started laughing really hard again, which I think was irritating him because it wasn't funny to him anymore, but I couldn't help it! So anyway, he makes me go down in the crawl space with him (I think it was my punishment for wrecking it :)), and he temporarily fixed it. And so this morning I'm getting ready for work and he sent me a text message asking if my leg was ok, which it was because I didn't get hurt. So I told him yes and he's all "good, then next time you need to go in the crawl space, use the correct entrance!" What a punk! :) I love him, even though he teases me. I think I tease him more anyway. So anyway that's my story about how being retarded probably won't get you far in life :) Hope you at least got a laugh, we sure did!

Update...

Hey everyone. I still don't have a ton to update on, but I haven't done anything for 2 weeks so I figured I better do something. Well it's finally here! Fall is upon us. It still feels like summer outside, but we should be seing the fall weather by Saturday! yay! I love it. And October is here. I love Halloween and now that I have my own house to decorate, it makes it that much more fun. I went a little crazy at Tai Pan for my birthday and got some cute Halloween decorations. October is going to be a busy month for us too it looks like. This weekend is my mother-in-laws birthday and our semi-annual general conference family sleep over. The girls stay home and make donuts while the boys go to the priesthood session, and then we all sleep over and have yummy breakfast and watch conference together. It's so much fun! I'm excited! And then the next Saturday is my little brother Matthew's baptism. Good job buddy! I love you and I'm so proud of you. That reminds me, I need to write a talk on baptism... Then the next Saturday my sister-in-law Brandie and I are throwing a baby shower for our sis-in-law Crystal that is having a boy in December. It's at my tiny house which means I need to figure out how to cram everyone into my tiny living room. That should be fun! :) We'll make it work and it will be great! We're excited about that. And then.. yes there's more, I have my annual work retreat all day Friday at camp Williams (which is better because it's normally an overnight thing and this year it's just all day), and then on Saturday the 25th is my friend Amiee's little boy's 1 year old birthday party that we are hoping to make it to. That should be fun! He is too cute! And of course Halloween, which I love, and there is a dentist appt in there somewhere, which I don't love, but I love to have extra clean teeth. :) So it's a busy month and this season only gets busier as we go with all the holidays. But I wouldn't trade it, it's my favorite time of the year. I love baking all kinds of yummy foods and pumpkin desserts, and spending so much time with family. I'm so lucky to have such a great family. Especially my husband. I love you babe.

Hey everyone. I don't have much to update on but I hate when no one updates their blogs so I thought I would at least say hi. I'm finally over my cold mostly. I got better pretty quick but couldn't seem to get rid of the stuffy nose or scratchy throat. I still have a little bit of a scratchy throat but I feel way better. Well
Shayne and I are coming up quick on our 3 year wedding anniversary! I'm pretty excited. It's on Sept 24th. We don't really have any fun plans since we don't have much money from buying our house, but we will come up with something I'm sure. I'm just so blessed to have such a wonderful husband and I want him to know how much I love him and how grateful I am for all he does for our family and for me. I love you babe! So much! Also, I'm turning the big 23 on Sunday the 21st. I don't know if that's really "big" but I feel old :) I have been seeing people from high school around and I feel dumb because I can't remember their names! And they are people I was friends with! Oh well, it was 5 years ago, what can ya do? Anyway, that's about it, happy birthday and anniversary to me I guess :) Hope everyone has a good day!

Blasted Colds...

You know that feeling when you can tell your getting sick? Well I felt that way all day yesterday morning and now I have a horrible cold! I went strait to wal-mart last night after work to get some cold medicine. When we got home I thought I would take the night time one since we didn't have to go anywhere and I could just relax. I thought it would just make me a little sleepy. WRONG!! I was out like a light! I fell asleep on the couch around 6:30 and woke up twice because I was trying so hard to stay awake so I could spend time with Shayne, but it was no use. Finally around 9:30 we went to bed and I slept all night pretty much. The sucky thing is when I'm sick it doesn't matter how much I actually sleep, I still feel like I didn't sleep at all. So here I am at work tired as can be and feeling like I got hit by a mack truck!! Oh well, I'll get better, I'm just whining :)

Tuesday, September 2, 2008

So I know it's not technically Fall yet but it is September and Fall is one of my favorite times of the year so I thought I would change my blog. I love Fall and everything that goes with it. I love the cool weather and changing leaves and all the time spent with family. Oh! Also, we finally got our central air in!! Yay! It cost about a billion dollars more than we planned and now the weather is going to cool off, but at least it's done! Finally! It works really well, I'm usually freezing to death now. We also put on a new front door this weekend because the one we had was really ugly plus it had about an inch and a half gap under it so the cold air would go out and the bugs would come in. I didn't like that so we got a new one. I can't even tell you how big of a fiasco that was. My husband, father-in-law, and brother-in-law had to do SOOO much work to get it in and it took ALL day! Thanks guys for your help, I don't know what we would do without such a great family! But it's in and it looks so much better than the other one. I'm bummed because we had dinner plans with our friends that night that we had to cancel because it was taking so long to get the door in, but at least it's all done. It's never really ALL done though is it? There is always something to get done, and I feel like my list is never ending sometimes. But I can't complain. I have a wonderful husband who helps me keep it all together when it's all falling apart. And we have the best families in the world that do so much to help us. Thanks everyone! We love you!

It's been a while...

Sorry I haven't updated my blog for a few weeks. It's just that not much new has been going on. Still waiting for our a/c to be installed and still loving our house. My sister in law Brandie and her husband Eric got a cute new puppy. He is adorable. And my brother and sister in law Casey and Crystal got his brother which looks almost exactly like him. They are both so dang cute! I don't have any pics or else I would post them. They are yorkie, chihuahua, datsun mix, and really small. They are so fun to play with. Not much else to report I guess. Casey and Crystal moved into a new house, and Brandie and Eric are still doing demo on their new house so they can remodel it and move in soon. So we have all just been helping each other move and get things done at our new houses since we all moved at basically the same time. We need to get our new front door hung and we really want to paint the outside of our house but I think that will wait until next year at least. So for now, all I want is our a/c done before the vultures come to get me!!!

Update...

I just wanted to update on our new house, ward, and neighborhood. We went to our new ward for the first time this Sunday. It started at 9am and we used to start at 1pm so that was an adjustment, but it was fun. So we get there and we didn't know if sacrament was first or last, so we walk in and see a greeter at the door of the chapel so we assumed sacrament was first. We walked up to him and he started asking who we were and if we were new, so we told him our story and we looked in the chapel and I swear there was no more than 15 people in there. We went in and sat down and we were talking about how everyone must be out of town or something. After sacrament(which was the quietest singing I have ever heard), we went to our class and then to Priesthood and Relief Society. I found out after church that during priesthood our neighbor/new friend told my husband that this was as crowded as he had ever seen the ward. I was shocked! So it is a teeny tiny ward but it is fun. Everyone seems so nice and welcoming and I think we will really like it there. We will probably just be speaking in Sacrament alot more often! :) About our neighbors... we have seen people, but the only people we have talked to are our neighbors to the East of us. I'm really excited because the are a young couple that are our age and have no kids yet. They have been married about a year less than us and they are so nice. They are going to be adopting 2 babies from Ethiopia in the Fall, which is really cool and even more fun that we are trying to have kids so it's nice to have friends/neighbors that are about at the same stage in life. Our previous neighbors were all older and the closest ones to our age had 3 kids already and were at least 5 years older. So it's fun to have someone on the same level. Another funny thing is, come to find out, Shayne went to school with him (Cole, our neighbor). Shayne graduated one year before him but they remembered each other. Also, Kelsey, his wife new Shayne from Acres. Her little sister and her sister's best friend were friends with Shayne when he worked there and he knew Kelsey also. It's a small world! But it will be so fun to have friends next door and in our same ward. I'm just so excited that we were so blessed to get this house in such a good neighborhood and I can't wait to start our family here!

Finally Some Pics...

I have been meaning to post pics of our new house for a while now, but I keep forgetting. So here they are, and please don't mind the mess.
The Living Room...

The kitchen and dining... I need to put up some pictures in the dining area, it's so plain.

Our plain little room, it needs pics on the walls
The bathroom, obviously...
Our used/new washer and dryer. The ones they left us didn't even work! These ones are way better anyway and we got a great deal on them!
I didn't put the second and third bedroom pics on here yet because they are totally full of stuff that still needs to be unpacked. They look exactly the same as our room though, just messier.

Our Baby Girls

Our cute little girls wondering what the heck is going on. This was right after we moved in. They were running all over the house smelling everything a thousand times. They seem to like our new little house though. I think we will be very happy here.

So as usual, when you move into a new house there are a few random things left behind by the previous people. So we are outside yanking out bushes and trimming stuff and we look up in the tree in the front yard and this is what we found. They were kind enough to leave us a moose. We were lauging so hard, like what the heck? Who puts a moose in a tree? I guess you had to be there, but we thought it was hilarious.
Our beautiful neice Stetson helping me clean the new house while the boys were getting the furniture. She is such a good girl!
My cute hubby working hard with his toy to make our new yard look nice.

So Fun!

We love our new house! It's so fun to unpack and decorate everything. The only thing that is not so fun is the heat! It's so hot! We only have a window ac in our bedroom and fans. It's been so hot, but we are getting central air this week so it will cool off! Yay! I'm so excited! I will post pictures as soon as possible!

Wednesday, July 23, 2008

Last night was our first night in our new house! It was fun, but I didnt' get much sleep. It was so hot because we didn't have time to hook up our air conditioner, so we will have to make sure we get it done tonight. We still have so much stuff to move, but we have the next 4 days off so we will be busy busy. Thanks so much to our families that came over and helped us clean and move stuff last night. It was a HUGE help. We didn't move much in because we were cleaning but we got our bed and clothes and everything we need to sleep and shower there. Now we just need the rest of our stuff and groceries and we will be set. It's so much fun moving into our first house! The puppies love it, they just run all over smelling everything a thousand times. And they love their new back yard.

Great News!

We moved our closing up from the 31st of July to the 21st which means we will be closing this coming Monday and moving in that week. We are so excited! We should probably get the keys on Tuesday and have the carpets cleaned that day and then start moving some of our stuff in on Wednesday, and then we both have Thursday and Friday off so we will move the rest of our stuff over the 4 day weekend! Yay! It's almost here finally!

RODEO TIME!!!

I love July because of all the fun stuff there is to do! I love to go to the rodeo, and parades and fireworks! We are going to the Days of 47 rodeo in Ogden on the 23rd. It's the breast cancer night and we are going as a family in honor of my mother in law who is bravely fighting breast cancer. Tough enough to wear pink!

4th of July!

We had a great holiday weekend. I forgot to take pictures though! In the morning we went to the North Ogden parade for a little bit and then headed up to Hunstville to see my friend Amiee sing. We barely made it but she did SO AWESOME!!! We loved it! Then after that we went home for a while, then headed over to Shayne's parents house for a family cook out. Then we all went over to see the fireworks in Farr West. They were pretty good. It was a fun day! Then on Saturday we did yard work for the first half of the day and then went to the drive-in to see Get Smart and Kung Foo Panda. I totally fell asleep during Kung Foo Panda. I'm a total lightweight when it comes to staying awake at the drive-in! And it didn't help that I was already exhausted from yard work all day, so we'll have to watch that one again. Shayne liked it alot. That's about it for our weekend! Now I just want July 31st to come so we can move into our new house!

Our New House!

Malia tagged me for pictures of our home, but since our house is a complete disaster since we are packing, I thought we would post the pitures of the inside of the house we will be moving into at the end of July. This is our first home, and we took the pictures during the home inspection last night. Everything with the inspection looked pretty good. The furniture in the home belongs to the renters, so as soon as I get a chance to take some pics of it vacant, I will. Hope you like it!
